Cherryhurst House

A few weeks ago, my coworkers and I went to visit Cherryhurst House. What is the Cherryhurst House? To be honest, I had never heard of it until this outing. My colleague, Leena, put together this outing, and I always love doing something new, so I definitely wanted to check it out. Turns out Cherryhurst House is a private home turned art exhibition for a few months out of the year. It's located on Cherryhurst street, hence the name and the exhibit we went to view was called Ripple.

The ripple exhibit was created by Dan Havel and Dean Ruck of the Havel Ruck Project. They basically transformed an otherwise average home into a cool space! There are "ripples" throughout the home and it's a pretty cool space to explore. I don't recommend wearing heels to tour the house....i wore heels and instantly regretted my decision. I had to be super careful walking around the raised pieces of floor.  The house was really cool and I took a bunch of pictures! I looked up more information on the house after our visit, and apparently Dan and Dean based this exhibit on sketches created by Leonard da Vinci.  I don't really talk about my love of history and iconic figures of the past too much on my blog, but suffice it to say that I'm OBSESSED with history!! I love everything about it, the good and the bad, the weird, the norm, everything. Leonardo da Vinci is one of my favorite people to research from history, so finding out that this house was inspired by some of his drawings made the trip even better!

On the way back to our cars from Cherryhurst House, we spotted a few homes that we really loved, so of course I paused to take a quick photo in from of them! Ha! It was definitely a hurry up and take the shot before the owners call the police moment on the weird people taking photos in front of their homes!
