This year for Thanksgiving, I hosted an impromptu Friendsgiving at my place. Most of my family is still up north in Pennsylvania but I didn't go home this year.  The holidays can be hard when you don't have family around, and it can be lonely or a time of depression for some. Don't forget to reach out to your friends over the holiday season because you just never know who may need a friendly hello this time of year.

I decided to host my friends in the conference room of my apartment because our skylounge isn't ready yet. At the end of the day a conference room is just a conference room, so I wanted to make it a bit more welcoming for my guests.  I actually own a fair amount of Fall decor so it was pretty easy to gather some items for a table setting and decorations around the room.  I don't spend a lot on decorations. I typically pick up items as I see them while I'm out and about, but I do have a few stores that I frequent when it comes to holiday decorations: The Dollar Store, Target, & Marshalls.

It's ok to be creative with your decor. Sometimes I buy things and use them differently from their original intentions.  These acorns were "vase" fillers, but I strewed them across the table. Instead of using the ramekins for food I filled them with potpourri!

I love flower centerpieces! I "borrowed" this one from the coffee area...teehee.

Yummy biscottis from Blonde Biscotti that Heather brought!

Marshalls: Tablecloth (similar), Plates
Ramekins, String Lights, Acorn Filler (similar), Acorn Garland, Hello Fall banner

Bed, Bath & Beyond: Felt leaf placemats
