Ever since I graduated college back in ....well....let's just say awhile ago I've held a career job that's 50% desk and 50% in the field. Over the years, there are just some essentials that I feel every girl should have at her desk/office. Below is a list of items I think are good to keep on hand!

Whether it's a compact in your purse or a mirror that sits on your desk, having a mirror is a non-negotiable. It's great for touching up make-up or just making sure you look OK before running into a meeting with your boss. A bathroom mirror is great to keep on the corner of your desk, or if you want to hang one on the wall, try a locker mirror.

At 33, I feel that I am JUST now really coming into my own with makeup. I've worn makeup for years, but I've never been committed to it. Old Shasie would rarely wear makeup every day, now I'm all about playing in makeup, and I like to have some at my desk for touch-ups or for days when I'm running late and I don't have time to do my makeup at home. Keeping a palette at your desk will provide the most versatility for your eyes and all my other picks are quick-fix items that you can keep at your desk, or your handbag!
1. Urban Decay 'Naked' Palette 2. Laura Mercier Caviar Stick  3. L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara
 4. L'Oreal Infallible Liquid Eyeliner 5. NYX Intense Butter Lipgloss 6.Charlotte Tilbury Eyelash Curler
7. Clinique X Crayola Chubby Lipstick
Keeping hair supplies in the office doesn't have to take up a lot of room. Look for mini/travel sized versions of your favorite products. Also if you have a drawers in the office bathroom, you can maybe store bigger sizes of your essential hair products.
1. Hairspray or Spritz  2. Travel Ceramic Flat Iron 3. Coconut-Infused Detangling Comb and Volumizing Hair Comb 4. Bobby Pins (perfect for fly aways) 5. Travel Size Edge Control Gel 6. Gel Grip Brush 7. Cordless Mini Curling Iron
8. Ouchless Hairties
I live in Houston, and even during non-Summer months it's extremely hot.  50% of my job is going out into the field with PPE on so one tends to get a little sweaty. Keeping deodorant at the desk is essential.  And ladies, no matter how much we try to figure out when our monthly is coming, sometimes there are ALWAYS (no pun intended) surprises, so keeping a stash of tampons or pads at your desk is a life saver. Also you never know when a female colleague is in need as well.  When you work in an office environment the temperature never seems to be perfect for everyone, so whether it's a space heater or a fan bring these items to keep your area at the temperature that you like.  Safety pins are a life saver...button popped off? Safety pin it! And last but not least, sometimes we overdue it with our heels and by mid-morning you may be ready to take those heels off. Keeping a pair of foldable flats, or a pair of regular flats at your desk is great to take a break from the heels during the day!
