African Fashion Week Returns to Houston this Fall 
September 18th - 24th 
Houston’s premier African fashion showcase returns for a fourth consecutive year ‘Making the Connection’ with a full week of fashion specialty events, presentations and showcases.
HOUSTON, Texas – The runway is calling, and Houston’s fashion and beauty lovers are in for a treat this fall! African Fashion Week Houston (produced by Fall of Signature Essence) returns for a fourth consecutive year with an ambitious, week-long series featuring runway shows, special presentations and a fashion festival beginning Monday, September 18th, and culminating with a grand show on Sunday, September 24th.

This year’s theme, Making The Connection, dares to endeavor with AFWH’s mission to “celebrate and share the traditions, elegance and innovation of African inspired fashion with the world, and to advance the spirit of community and cultural excellence across every society.”

Industry insiders, fashion and beauty bloggers, journalists, buyers, and the general public are invited to immerse themselves in the cultural fashion and lifestyle experience. Scheduled presentations will include special seminars, workshops, a film screening, social mixers and networking opportunities, in addition to two spectacular runway shows.

With at least one event each day of the week, it will formally kick off with the opening reception at Ogun Art + Wine on Monday September 18th, and culminate in the Fashion Farmers Tradeshow and FOSE Grand Fashion Show on Sunday September 24th at Houston Rental Studio. Also not to be be missed are the Beauty & Make-Up Workshop at Color Du Jour on Tuesday, September 19th, Wine, Art and Culture at Cherie Flores Garden Pavilion on Thursday 21st September, and the Ankara 4 Seasons Fashion Show at Holiday Inn Houston (Westchase) on Friday 22nd September. We look forward to sharing the full schedule in the near future.

Preceding the official launch of the fashion week series in September, AFWH will also host Cultured Cocktails at Boheme, and Cigars & Stilettos in July, JAAJO’s AfroBeat for Breast Cancer Dance Class in August, and more to be announced. In addition, African Fashion Week Houston is proud to announce the National Breast Cancer Foundation as our official charity of the 2017 fashion week series. A portion of this year’s ticket sales will benefit the foundation.
