FOODIE CHRONICLES: Grimaldi's Pizzeria

Sunday, July 10, 2016

This is a sponsored post. We received a complimentary food tasting in exchange for a review. Thoughts and opinions are my own.

The second stop on the Go Houston Travel Bloggers' 4th of July Staycation weekend was Grimaldi's . This was my first time eating at Grimaldi's. They had invited our group of bloggers for a food tasting. I never turn down pizza! Grimaldi's got their start in Brooklyn, NY and they've been in business for over 100 years. It's a staple pizza joint in the Big Apple, and they make their pizza using coal-fired brick-ovens.  As soon as you walk into Grimaldi's you want to eat. It smells amazing in there with all the hand-tossed pizzas being made! I also like the ambiance of Grimaldi's. It's nice enough for a date, but chill enough to bring your family.  They also play some of my favorite classic his, as in Frank Sinatra tunes! I love that era of music! It's also in a great location at City Centre. After a day of shopping, you can swing by Grimaldi's for some food!

Our hostess going over all the offerings on the Grimaldi's menu.
While they're known for pizzas, Grimaldi's wanted us to try a variety of items on their menu, including their gourmet salads. I'm pretty sure we had every salad on the menu. After the first round of salads, we were brought all the pizzas off of the Chef's selection.  I tried some of each pizza, and I have to say The Don, was probably my favorite!!! I also complimented my food tasting with one of their refreshing Summertime Sangrias and yummy lemonade!

Summertime Sangria = Yum!
Kale Chopped Salad
Caesar Salad
Mediterranean Salad
Spinach Salad
The Don - Italian Sausage, Meatballs and Pepperoni - This was my favorite because I'm a meat lover's pizza gal!
Brooklyn Bridge - Oven Roasted Red Peppers, Creamy Ricotta Cheese and Hand Pinched Italian Sausage
Quattro Formaggi - Mozzarella, Asiago, Parmesan, Pecorino Romano & Gorgonzola cheese
Just look at the steam! Fresh out the oven! The Garden - Fresh Roma Tomatoes, Sliced Onions, Mushrooms and Black Olives
Margherita Pizza
2 slices of pizza from Grimaldi's are big enough to fill you up! At least they filled me up!
