Dress For Dinner Season 7 Ends with Annual Fashion Gene Awards

Wednesday, May 11, 2016

Last week, Dress for Dinner wrapped up it's 7th season in style with their Annual Fashion Gene Awards. The finale event serves to celebrate fashionable mom and daughters who display an impeccable sense of style.  The event is ticketed and proceeds from the event go back to the Recipe for Success Foundation. This year's Honorees were as follows:

Jacqueline Fair & Jillian Bass
Jo Lynn, Kimberly & Christine Falgout
Tammie Johnson & Brittney Leigh Randolph
Vanessa & Alexa L. Sendukas
Jana Arnoldy, Lindley Arnoldy & Lauren Barrett
Duyen, Misha, Lauren, Chloe & Anais Nguyen

The Annual event was held at Tootsie's at West Ave River Oaks District and was Emcee'd by Culturemap Editor, Shelby Hodge.   The mother and daughters were styled in fashionable looks from Tootsies and opened up the runway.  Prior to the event, the daughters were asked about a fashion faux-pas of their mother's and vice versa. Each person's response was read during the walk! Some of them were really funny! The mothers and daughters were handed awards at the end of the runway and posed for a photo-op with Season 7 Chair Carrie Colbert, and Recipe for Success Foundation CEO and Founder Gracie Cavnar.  After the mother/daughter teams exited the runway, Neal Hamil models graced the runway showcasing the best of Spring & Summer looks offered at Tootsies. After the fashion shows, patrons who paid for dinner, were treated to a meal with Chef Barbara McKnight of CULINAIRE.  I love attending these events because they give back to a great cause, and there's always amazing fashion! If you missed the events this season, Recipe for Success is hosting an Art of Food event on May 19th! You can purchase tickets here or see the information on the flyer at the end of this post!
