You may be wondering why turnup and blog conference are  being used in the same sentence for my blog title, but keep reading and you'll find out why! Anyhoo, the 2nd installment of  the Thrive Blog Conference, happened at the end of February at Embassy Suites - The Woodlands. I love this conference, for several reasons. One, it's here in Houston, and two I get to mingle with existing blogger pals, and make some new ones. Even though the conference is here and close enough for me to commute I decided to stay overnight at the conference hotel and make a staycation out of it! I shared a room with Emily, Michelle, and Lura. Ironic enough, I've only known Michelle and Lura for a year after meeting them for the first time at Thrive last year! These are the kind of amazing connections that are made at Thrive! We had a blast sharing the room. Our room was upgraded to a suite and when we arrive there was a gourmet cheese and cracker tray, and a bottle of champagne with 4 champagne glasses. Doesn't get any better than that right?

In addition to the goodies from the hotel, the ladies of Thrive, left each of us a box of macarons presents from Macaron by Patisse, and letters from Visit the Woodlands.  Michelle, Emily, and I arrived at the hotel a few hours before the opening party, so we enjoyed some bubbly, girl talk, and the usual antics of getting ready for a party. We of course took pictures of our outfits as well, because any blogger worth their salt, is chronically taking pictures of themselves! Around 7 pm we headed downstairs to the opening night party. At first it was a little slow, as bloggers were slowly making their way in, but by the end of the evening the party turned into a full on dance-off! But more about that later.  After a welcome speech by Whitney and Bree, Francesca's presented a fashion show featuring the latest Spring fashions. After the fashion show, I perused the different vendor booths. My favorite booth was Whole Foods because I got to make my own natural face scrub! I used it the next day and I loved it! Later the party turned into an awesome dance party. Everyone let loose and turned up!
