WHAT I WORE: Valentine's Day Red

Sunday, February 14, 2016

I'm pretty cliche when it comes to dressing up for holidays --green on St. Patty's day, green and red for Christmas, orange and black for Halloween -- you get the point. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that I chose to wear "cliche" red today for Valentine's Day.  Truth be told, I'm not the biggest fan of Valentine's Day and it's not because I'm single. I've been in relationships before over Valentine's Day and I didn't care for it than either. I just feel it's kind of obnoxious. The balloons, the flowers, the "valentines", the candy....it's SUCH a commercial holiday...spend, Spend, SPEND some more to prove your love? I've always been taught money can't buy love.  I feel that people celebrate Valentine's Day due to societal obligations versus actually wanting to show someone how much they love them, but to each their own!  However, I do enjoy the occasional Galentine's day celebration and sending a card or two to family and friends.  I also enjoy dressing up for Valentine's day.

Red is one of my favorite colors, which is surprising because I actually don't own a lot of red clothing. Over the weekend, I went on a little shopping spree and picked up this cute bow cut-out crop top. As soon as I saw it, I knew it would be the perfect top to wear for Valentine's Day. So what did I do today? Absolutely nothing!  I have off tomorrow for President's Day so I've been enjoying this extended weekend to regroup! I had a chill day of catching up on the blog, taking some photos, and running some errands! I wore the leggings with the top around the house, but when I left to run errands I changed to jeans! The crop is really cute with the leggings, but I'm not 100% ready to venture out in public in just leggings yet! Ha! Maybe Yoga Pants, because they are thicker.
