WHAT I WORE: Fringe, Cat-Ears, & Crosses

Thank you to Margret Rojas of Style the Girl, for snapping some outfit shots of me at the Elaine Turner party! A lot of events I go to, start right after I get off of work, and sometimes I don't have time to change. Especially if the location is more than 30 minutes away, like the Elaine Turner event. Since the Elaine Turner party was about 45 minutes from my job, I knew I'd have to go straight from 'work to chic' without stopping home.  On days like this, I try to wear as much of my after-work look to work that I can. When it comes to a shirt and jeans, that's fairly easy for me to wear to work. I wore this entire look to work, sans the cat-ears and heels. When it was time for me to leave, I swapped out my flats for these pumps, and put on the cat-ear headband that I had stowed away in my handbag.

And when it comes to dressing up for an event, I don't always want to be in a dress. I take a lot of my style inspiration from one of my favorite bloggers, Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad, who can style a basic pair of jeans to look perfect on a red-carpet. Her style aesthetic is amazing, and she's inspired me to play more with separates in my wardrobe. A favorite separate of mine, is this fringe western wear top, that I picked up from the Houston Rodeo circa 2014! I fell in love with the teal color, the bedazzled crosses and of course the fringe. It's such a comfortable shirt, while at the same time being form-fitting. I wanted the teal to be the main focus, so I paired the top with black jeans, and black pumps. To further connect the teal, I wore my glass jewelry by Lindsay Designs, that comes in teal.
