WHAT TO WEAR: 4th of July Edition

Monday, June 29, 2015

I don't know about y'all, but the 4th of July definitely snuck up on me this year. I keep forgetting that this week is a short week for me at work due to the holiday.   I enjoy participating in 4th of July festivities and dressing up for the holiday! Every year I come up with some way to sport red, white and blue. I'm still thinking of how I'm going to do it this year, but to inspire me, I've styled a few looks on Polyvore for the occasion. There's something for everyone in the looks below, from subtle, to "in your face". Whichever direction you choose to go for the 4th, I hope you have a great time celebrating this country's freedom. We have a long way to go in some areas but I'll always be proud to be an American.

All Black 4th of July

All Black - For the girl who wears all black. Don't put your black ensembles away just because it's Summer and the 4th of July! Pick out your cutest romper and style it with red, white, & blue accessories like this brooch and bracelet. You can't go wrong with black as your base. You can also swap out the heels for some colorful flats. Black Romper / Saint Laurent Jane 80 Sandals / Turquoise bracelet / Patriotic Brooch

All White 4th of july

All White - Wearing all white is a risky look, especially if you are accident prone like me, but if you've navigated the waters in all white before this look is for you. Keep everything white, even down to your shoes, and add pops of blue or red color in your earrings and handbag. ATM by Anthony Thomas Melillo Top / Old Navy Skinny Jeans / Coolway Sandals / American Flag Handbag / Kendra Scott Danielle Earrings

obviously 4th of july

Obviously - I call this the "obvious" 4th of July look, and it's clear to see why. The easiest way to sport the colors is to just wear them! You can mix this up anyway you want; blue shorts, red top. White shorts, blue top, red shoes, white necklace. However you wear the big three, make it bold! Cami Top / H&M Twill shorts / Espadrille / Orla Kiely Crossbody / Marni Leather Fringe Necklace

Subtle - 4th of July

Subtle  - This look is for the person that wants to be patriotic, but doesn't need to follow the crowd by wearing blatant red white and blue. With a pop of red in the necklace and basic jean shorts, you can show your patriotism on the low! Crotchet Top / Denim Shorts / Keds / Crossbody purse / Aldo Accessories Necklace

OLD NAVY - 4th of July

OLD NAVY - 4th of July - If the above 4 looks didn't work for you, head over to Old Navy for some great deals on their Americana collection.  Sandals / Sleeveless Shift DressFireworks Sundress / Stars & Stripes Sweater / Patterned SweaterFireworks shorts / Canvas Sneakers / Espadrilles
