EVOLUTION OF CHIC: Houston Community College Spring 2015 Fashion Show Part 1

Sunday, May 10, 2015

Last week, I was invited to attend the Houston Community College Spring Fashion Show, entitled "Evolution of Chic". At least two classes from the school help put on this production. The fashion design class and the fashion promotions class. The Fashion promotions class works on everything from obtaining models, inviting guests, coordinating run of show, managing the organized chaos backstage and so forth, while the 22 fashion design students presented the looks in the show. This was my first time attending one of the HCC fashion shows, and I was really impressed. Not just with the clothes (which you are about to see some fabulous garments from the future designers of America), but with the overall production of the event. As a guest of a fashion show, you may not realize just how much work goes into pulling one off. From runway layout, to music, press invites and more there's room for a lot of things to go wrong! My friend, and Style Expert/Wardrobe Consultant, Andrea Bonner is the Associate Professor for HCC's Fashion Promotions class, and I was excited to see everything that her students had learned through the year. Today's post I'll be sharing looks from the first 11 designers.
