WHAT I WORE: Valentino

Being that I wore this outfit on May 3rd, I'd say I'm a tad behind on outfit posts.  I wore this look to my company's 30th Anniversary Party at the Westin Hotel Memorial City.  My company booked a banquet hall and blocked out discounted rooms for all us! I decided to stay at the hotel because 1. I love hotels & Staycations, and 2. I could get ready in the hotel room and walk down to the party, have a drink or two and then walk back upstairs to my room and pass out! lol.  I solicited my Makeup Artist friend Shatara Davis to do my makeup for the party! She did such a great job! I loved my face and apparently so did everyone else!

After Shatara finished my face, it was time to get dressed.  The dress code for the company party was semi-formal to formal attire. My dress was of course black (even though I was really trying to avoid wearing black) and from the City Chic plus-size line at Nordstrom. While at Nordstrom I picked up some accessories for the dress from the Baublebar X Nordstrom collaboration and oh yea...these amazing pair of Valentino Rockstud 3-Strap Mid-Heels.  Yes, I caved! I know almost every fashion blogger owns a pair of Rockstuds, but when I tried them on...I fell in love and had to have them! I really wanted a pair of heels that would stand out, since the dress was a hi-lo dress that showcased the legs and shoes. Plus, they weren't black.

I'm actually wearing two necklaces. I was inspired by the examples Baublebar had on the Nordstrom site for layering necklaces and decided to do it with these two lucite/acrylic ones.  The headband was a last minute addition. I didn't want my hair to get frizzy from dancing and taking photos (I was asked to be one of the official photographers for the night) so I added the headband to keep it calm.

I solicited my date to take outfit photos of me! Sure glad he didn't mind! This is me in the Lobby of the Westin. I wanted to show that the dress came with these cute overlays.
Almost like pockets!
