TICKET TO THE TENTS: Herve Leger Fall 2013 Collection

Tuesday, February 12, 2013

Herve Leger is changing this fall. The standard bandage and harness apparels are still present, but there are more options for the girl who loves a body-conscious outfit.

Let’s face it, the Hervé Léger woman is sexy. She does not hide behind smoke and mirrors or shrink at the thought of not leaving anything to the imagination. But, this season the Hervé Léger woman has a bit more depth and variety in her wardrobe. She even has a few separates to speak of.

As the first model appeared, many in the packed house may have thought, same old same old. Another version of the trademark Hervé Léger bandage dress. Yes, it was incredibly striking in a high contrast black and white pattern, but it was still the same note they have been playing for years. Then came look #2, a rib-drift (the more demure cousin of the mid-drift) blue with black lace cut out top with matching pencil skirt paired with an uber lux winter coat appeared and a different show began.

Everything seemed less severe. The pieces had a joy to them not usually seen in in this collection. Not all the dresses were skin tight, some were presented in an A line to promote movement and femininity. Others were styled layered over long sleeve t-shirts and matching leggings – a trend many designers are into these days. A black fur covered sweatshirt style top and the sparling studs detailing bumped up the lux just when you were getting comfy. This collection proves that the Hervé Léger woman has more to say than just “look at how sexy I am,” but she does always say “look at me!”
