The Amazing Fashion Race

Saturday, October 20, 2012

2 Saturdays ago I competed in Houston's first Amazing Fashion Race. My partner was the lovely LeRenda of Beauty by LeRenda.  We were team#320! In addition to competing in the competition, we were chosen as the team to compete against the Mirror/Mirror team: Rebecca and Sabrina.  Mirror/Mirror is a television show on the Live Well Network that focuses on fashion and beauty and is hosted by Rebecca Spera.  The event started around 9 a.m. but we arrived early for some filming.  It was pretty cool to have a camera crew with us for the whole event.  I used to wonder how awkward it would be to be on a reality TV show with a camera crew with you every second of the day, but it actually wasn't bad.  I wasn't nervous at all, I just acted like myself...talkative...lolol.  I can't wait to see the final episode, and will keep all of you posted for when it comes out.

LeRenda and I decided to wear black pants and pink tops to show our support for Breast Cancer Research. I even went so far as to wear my Pink Ribbon pin.  Doing the race was pretty fun! I was spastic about getting around the city and trying to win and LeRenda kept us levelheaded as I knew she would! Ha! The game was digital using a smartphone. You would receive the address for a store location and then you would receive a clue like: "Stripes are the story of my life, it's my motto". The answer to that one was the Tom's logo inside Loop.  We were at Loop for like our first 4 clues, and then finally got to move onto other Some of the stores we made it too were  Lululemon, Norsdstrom Rack, Em & Lee & Loop.

At the end there was a runway walk competition, and HFB members NW Style & Co and Val Verde Style competed
