Over the last month I've had the pleasure of working with the company Lia Sophia. Through relationships with their corporate team, and individual advisors, I've learned alot about this jewelry line that is changing the way women shop for jewelry, and the financial lives of the women who become and advisor. I met Lisa Peterson back in November at the Texas Women's Conference, and wanted to feature her and her story on being a Lia Sophia Advisor for all of you! Enjoy her story!

“To put it simply... lia sophia has CHANGED my life!"

8 years ago I was living back in Wisconsin with my husband (now EX) and 3 amazing children. We had a gorgeous home with a pool and creek in the backyard, and then I received a knock on my front door. I was handed a subpoena that stated they were going to repossess my van, and start foreclosure on my home. I stood there totally shocked and unsure of what to do next. Of course, I went to my husband at the time and eventually found out that all our money was gone, including the kids college funds with no explanation as to where it went. After quite a few tears, I had to figure out what I was going to do.

A few days later I was invited to "one of those at-home jewelry parties." No one, and I mean no one, knew of my current financial situation. I called my friend and told her I could not make it to her jewelry party. I literally did not have an extra dollar to spare and couldn’t even think of spending it on jewelry. As the date grew nearer to the party, my friend called me up and said, "I don't care if you don't buy anything, I just need bodies at the party. Please come!" So I went ...

I was one of three people present at the jewelry party. I listened to the jewelry Advisor’s presentation and looked at the jewelry, but knew I could not afford anything. Then the Advisor said, "you can pick any item in the catalog $100 or less and pay only $5.00 if you host a party." Umm... say that again? It was too good to be true. So I agreed to host a party at my home with some of my family and friends, just so I could get that piece of jewelry for $5.00. I would figure out a way to come up with the $5.00, the deal was just too good. and I really needed the pick-me-up. I had a very successful jewelry party at my home and that same Advisor told me, "FYI.... I made $526.00 tonight at your party."

Do you know what $526.00 sounded like to me at that point in time? I think I heard it as $2.6 million dollars!! I had to hear more...

After speaking to the Advisor, I was so excited I couldn't even sleep. I was laying there broke with no where to turn, so I decided to give it a try. I borrowed the money to purchase the $149.00 starter kit and then realized ... "oh no, I have to ask my friends to help me out and host a party." I was not comfortable asking for help or talking in front of people. But I had mouths to feed and bills to pay, and there didn't seem to be any other option.

Quite a few of my friends graciously opened the doors to their homes to host parties for me. As I trembled up in front of their friends, I slowly began to get more comfortable and fell in love with doing parties. After I received my first paycheck for $325.00 for one show, I was hooked! I just got paid to party with women and look at fabulous fashion jewelry.

I made $83,000 in my first year with lia sophia! Now 8 years later, I am making more money than I ever dreamed possible and have created a wonderful life for my kids and myself. I never thought I would know what financial freedom would feel like. It is INCREDIBLE!! Now I get to share this life changing business with everyone I meet. Who knows when I might meet someone just like me, down on their luck, and give them the gift of lia sophia.

Lisa and her friend Kristin were kind enough to let me try out a couple pieces from Lia Sophia's 2012 Spring Collection. The below bracelet and necklace have quickly become fave go-tos for mine. The quality is great, and I've received many compliments on them!
