Blogger Preview Event

Wednesday night  I attended Simon Fashion Now's Blogger Preview Event at Houston Galleria Mall. It was cool meeting some new Houston Bloggers and hanging with those I've known for awhile. The event premise is taking a small group of Houston Fashion Bloggers around to a few select stores in the Mall to learn about the current season's trends and how they are incorporating them into their merchandise.  We visited 5 stores; L.K. Bennett, Banana Republic, White House|Black Market, French Connection, & Bare Escentuals

Top: Old Navy
Jeans: Old Navy
Sandals: Kiss & Tell (Addison Shoes)
Belt: Express (Similar)
Handbag: New York & Company

The store owner took us on a tour of their spring collections.  I think L.K. Bennett has everything SS12 trend covered! She showed us bold, modern prints for the mixing prints trend, pastels, color-blocking, and use of bright colors like turquoise, yellows, & tangerine.  The Duchess wears this line a lot, and I can see why! Everything in this store almost screamed Kate Middleton and since I'm a big fan of Kate's style, I like this shop!

Though I'm not comfortable in shoes with little support, I really loved the Azure Sandal offered in the turquoise and yellow color. It comes in other color offerings!

Banana Republic is heading back to it's roots this spring with their chic offerings in the safari trend.  They are also very inspired by Mad Men, and have a Mad Men collection. What I liked the most about touring BR was the accessories! Man they had some great pieces! I always say I don't really do vintage, but most of their latest jewelry line is inspired by a vintage twist on graphic I think I'm going to have to increase my jewelry arsenal soon! :-)

White House | Black Market
You may have noticed over the last few years or so that WHBM is no longer only compiled of white & black clothing. They introduced a pop of color fad that's pretty cool. While they still have majority black and white apparel, they always have one pop of color to create a 3 color palette. Currently they are on brown, which too me brings in animal print, and tribal trending to mind.  What's the next color coming to WHBM? Yep you guessed it! Orange & Tangerine! Can't wait to see those color options!
