Houston Fashion's Night Out - The Stores

Monday, September 12, 2011

I took so many pictures at Houston Fashion's Night Out that I'm going to have to split these into a few posts.  There was so much going on at the Galleria Mall! When my friend Viviana and I arrived we entered through Saks 5th Avenue.  They had everything from complimentary gelato to makeovers. We stayed there for about an hour, sipping on vodka lemonades & champagne, eating crab salads & gelato. We also had our makeup done by makeup artists for Dolce & Gabbana. I have to admit that I didn't know D&G had makeup. Found out they've had a line for about a year and half.

After the makeovers, there was a photographer there with D&G from Priscilla Parish Dickson Photography that took your picture. He also gave us access to the photos from the evening on their website so that we could upload the above looks in which the artists were doing our makeup.

Vivi and I with our respective makeup artists. Lauren, my artists taught me some really great makeup tricks! I will share them with you.
  • Apply concealer to the eyelid before eye makeup. It helps the color to stick
  • Apply crease and corner eye makeup with the eye open, it provides a guide for the brush
  • Tone of blush should always match and pick-up your lipstick color

Next we roamed around Saks sipping our cocktails and taking pictures! There were very handsome male models walking around showcasing expensive purses, and Vivi and I quickly obtained crushes!

Ambassadors from Stylelist.com where there offering a chance to win $250 to Saks, and of course any opportunity for us to take a picture we're going to jump on it!

Finally leaving saks, we picked up sparkling mimosas and a program from the Simon Mall Mini Bar in the mall walkway.

Mimosas in hand, we headed to other stores. Here are pictures from our other stops!
Macaroons and Champagne at Tory Burch. Finally got to taste a macaroon. So many European bloggers talk about them, and I've always wondered what they tasted like...they are "interesting"
