Welcome to another installment of Fan Feature Friday!! Yay! I love this feature on my blog, because I get to celebrate the unique styles of each of my followers! Today I have for you Jay of It's Jay Marie, an inspiring fashion journalist.

Name: Jay
Age: 19
Occupation: Sales Associate/Student
Hometown Location: South Carolina
Current Location: Hanover, MD
Blog URL (if Blogger):

The naming of your blog seems pretty self –explanatory, but why did you decide to go with your name?
I’m horrible with usernames and nicknames and I picked one that I really like which was JayMarie. It’s a nickname from my first name and one of my middle names. All my friends were in love with it so I was like ‘This is it!’ (sounds like you are saying you have 2 middle names? Very interesting!)

How long have you been blogging?
I have been blogging since November 2010. I just decided to do it and I’m so glad I did!

What’s your favorite thing about being a fashion blogger?
I love meeting new bloggers and the feedback. Knowing that someone took the time to read and comment is amazing!

What are your goals for your blog?
I hope my blog can become just a big factor in my resume. It’s great for web and graphic design as well as working in the magazine industry, which is what I wish to do.

What are you studying in college?
Visual Communications with a track in graphic design, but I’m unfortunately not in school this semester.

It seems like you have a few different elements on your blog: Shop, Beauty, & My Outfits. What made you decide to break up your blog?
I think fashion consists of many things, not just one thing, plus people like variety and one place they can go for everything. I did a poll on IFB on favorite magazines and why and many people said magazines that had a variety of reading material. It also helps if you run out of post ideas for one thing; you always have another to focus on.

What was your favorite trend for S/S 2011?
Maxis! I thought I was too short at 5’3” for maxis but I found a skirt and dress and fell in love. I can’t wait to convert them for fall/winter wear!

What items are you looking forward to for the Fall?
Socks, tights and cozy sweaters! I didn’t really get into the socks and tights trends last fall. I just stuck with leggings, but I’m ready to mix it up with dresses and skirts! And who doesn’t love a nice cozy sweater?

What kind of music do you like to listen too?
I listen to all kinds of music. I don’t understand how people restrict themselves to one specific genre. I think I have the oddest iPod that goes from Lil Wayne to a song from the Glee Soundtrack to The Pretty Reckless! But it’s all about the lyrics and how it makes you feel.

Are you more into accessories or apparel?
I think neither can survive without the other. Accessories can really take an outfit to the next level (and even over the top). I love accessorizing though. Now, what do I have more of? Clothes.

What made you choose to host your blog versus BlogSpot or wordpress?
It just intrigued me. I did my research and decided on onsugar and if I had problems I would switch over. I have thought about switching, but I see no reason why. I give all my followers the same options (Google Friend Connect). Plus I always dare to be different without trying.

How does fashion where you live compare to other places you may have lived or visited?
Where I live probably has the most variety in fashion I’ve ever seen. I’ve lived in places where people dressed somewhat the same and there wasn’t a lot around us, like malls. Now I live where there are so many options and so many malls, so there is def a variety from the root.

Do you have any fashion icons and favorite designers? If yes, tell us who and why.
I think lately there has been a big crossover between fashion icons and celebrities which is okay! I have so many though, but one is Rachel Zoe. As a fashion forward stylist and a woman, she’s amazing! I’m so happy for her family!

Do you read fashion magazines and if so which ones are your favorites?
Of course I do! My favorites are Glamour and still Seventeen! I can read a variety of things in those magazines, and find affordable pieces and shopping websites. It’s depressing finding an adorable $5,000 dress in Vogue. All of them are great though.

Is your family very into fashion?
My family is a very good looking one! LOL But everyone comes to me for fashion advice and tips and I’m always put in charge of outfits when it comes to family reunions and family photos. Everyone has their own little style, but they all like to look good.

Have you learned any fashion tips from the women in your family?
Not off the top of my head. I did learn things here and there from my mom. She did teach me a lot about bras and undies which is just as important as a pair of jeans! We’re both Victoria’s Secret addicts!

Would you like to add anything else for my readers?
Just go for your dreams or what you want to do because no one else will and it def won’t just fall from the sky and into your lap.
