A little late today, but here is FAN FEATURE FRIDAY!! Yay!! I'm so glad this feature is so popular with all of you! Anyway, today I'm featuring Mel, a girl who enjoys ice skating and loves the world of f fashion!! Enjoy!

Name: Mel
Occupation: High School Student
Hometown: France
Current Location: France
Blog URL (if blogger)

How did you come up with the name of your fashion blog? The reason I started getting interested in fashion is because of figure skating. Just like fashion, each year, there are some trends for figure skating costumes. I really wanted to combine fashion in my blog's name with a reference to ice skating. That's why I named it The Fashion Igloo.

What are your favorite fashion magazines to read? I love Elle France and Teen Vogue as they combine fashion with music, news, & books. I also really enjoy reading Seventeen because I feel like it relates to me as a teen.

Do you have any style/fashion/beauty icons? If so, please tell us who, and why? I love Kate Middleton's classic yet sophisticated style even though in general I'd rather look at fellow fashion bloggers' for inspiration instead of celebrities.  They dare more in their outfits and are usually more down-to-earth. It's easier to relate to them.

What fun things do you like to do in your free time? I love drawing, playing guitar, ice skating, hanging out with friends, and making my own jewelry. I always like to try new things so I actually have many hobbies. The next things I want to learn are roller skating and cooking.  (Rollerskating should come easily for an iceskater!)

What do you plan to study in college? I don't know yet, but I think I might study commerce.  If not, probably politics or journalism.

Tell us your favorite S/S 2011 trend: I love the use of lace in all sorts of clothes. it's girly and very sophisticated.

What is your favorite item in your closet at this very moment? Could be, jewelry, clothing, etc. I love my Charlotte Russe high-heeled shoes that I wear very often in my blog outfits. They hurt, but being little, they make me feel taller and they add a sophisticated touch to an outfit.

France, especially Paris, is well-known for fashion and fashion innovation.  How does the fashion where you live now, compare to other places you may have lived or visited?  I think people dress up more in France than in the United States. I believe this is due to the fact that  France has a strict dress for school and at work, whereas  Americans dress however they feel. They have a much more cool, natural, casual style. This is also reflected by different cultures. French people tend to always start stressing every time something happens. Americans, in comparison, tend to not stress at all. Cultural differences can be pretty funny to observe sometimes. In Asia, a lot of people still wear beautiful traditional costumes in their everyday lives. The Japanese always seem fashionable. They are not afraid of trying new & daring outfits. They also wear cute things that Europeans or Americans tend to find more childish. It's kind of the Kawaii fashion. I can't say I prefer one country's style to another. I think each has it beauty.

How would you describe your personal style? Girly, simple and summery. I wear tank tops and skirts even in the cold. I guess I stayed with my old bad habits from when I had to wear a uniform in school! ha-ha.

How long have you been blogging and what are your goals for your blog? I've been blogging since March of this year. My goals are to show fashion that one can wear everyday, while adding little fun pieces based on customs from each country I have visited.  Of course, I'd love to obtain more followers and maybe someday have sponsors.

Are you a frugalista or a fashionista? A bit of both I'd say.  At the moment, maybe more of a frugalista.

Tell us some of your favorite stores to shop in.  If you are in Europe, definitely go to H&M, Jennyfer and Claire's. In the US, I would advise you to go check out H&M, Claire's, Charlotte Russe, and of course, my favorite store ever, Forever 21. If you live in Mexico or Texas, you might want to go to Shasa too. It's not a well known store by you find it in most malls and they have interesting prices. (I actually just discovered Shasa here at a mall in Houston, Texas. I never heard of it before!)

Would you like to add anything else for my readers? Please go check out my blog! It's The Fashion Igloo, and definitely follow Shalanda's blog :-). (Aww girlie, thanks for the shoutout! I'm sure many of my readers will be heading to your blog after this wonderful interview!
