WHAT I WORE: Drop-Waist & Blog Changes

Thursday, January 18, 2018

This year marks the 8th year that I've been blogging.  February 11th, 2010 was my first blog post. It's hard to believe that I've been blogging for that long! I've definitely had my ups and down with blogging.  I'll elaborate more on these ups and downs in my upcoming 8th Anniversary Blog Post, but suffice it to say I've had more than one occasion over the years of shutting it down.  Most recently I find that I've lost my original passion for blogging and my blog topic: Fashion.  Don't get me wrong...I still LOVE fashion, but blogging about it has lost it's appeal.  Over the last few months, I've been getting more and more into Home Design & Decor. And now that I live downtown, I'm really into exploring downtown Houston and sharing my city life experiences.  These topics have re-energized my love of writing and sharing, so I've decided to add these topics to my blog as well.

I'll still be blogging about fashion, as I love sharing outfits and unique fashion events that I attend, but fashion will not longer be the main focus of my blog! I have 8 years of fashion content on this site, and I feel that it's time for a change.  I hope all of you will remain readers of my blog with these changes! I assure you that I will still be producing the same quality content that you have grown to love over the years.  I think it's normal for a person to grow and change their interests! Feel free to share your growth stories with me in the comments or on social media.

Now that I live in the city, it's a lot more fun for me to invite people over. To be honest, I wasn't a big fan of the area I used to live in, and while I still had people over, there wasn't much to do down there. Now living in the city, I want people to come over all the time.  I have a standing weekly appointment (if schedules permit) with Heather from, LA Fashion Snob to workout and explore Houston.  We also take outfit photos for each other around the city.  This particular "Tree and Benches" wall Art (I call it that, not sure of it's actual name) is just down the street from my high-rise. It was hidden from me for awhile under a construction scaffold, but the scaffold is finally down, and this wall is a cute wall for photos!

We also stumbled upon this cool sidewalk. We thought the color and the patter of the brick was perfect for outfit photos, so you'll probably be seeing A LOT of this sidewalk on my blog.  I first featured it here in my green dress blog post.
