WHAT I WORE: Tips for Wearing All White

Thursday, May 18, 2017

I don't think we're going to see another "cold front" in Houston until November...lol. However, I've been wrong before. The temperatures are steadily rising here in the H and it's time for me to fully embrace my Spring and Summer fashions.  While I do keep a stockpile of clothes from seasons pasts that I rotate, I love picking up new items; like this hooded romper.  A month or so ago I attended Ashley Stewart's "Finding Ashley Stewart 2017" tour when it came through Houston. While taking in all of the activities at the store (stay tuned for an event recap) I did some shopping. This romper immediately stood out to me because it was sporty. Lately, I've really been into sporty looks...or I guess I should say the  overused term, "athleisure" trend.

A lot of people get nervous when it comes to wearing white, especially an ALL white outfit. Typically the biggest concern is spilling something on their clothes. Well, I'm as clumsy as they come, so if I can pull off wearing white than you can too!  The part that people forget when it comes to wearing white, is wearing the appropriate undergarments. Depending on your skin tone, you will want to pick undergarment colors that blend in with your skin tone to prevent them from being visible through your clothes. Since my skin is brown I wear brown or black undergarments when I wear white. Lighter skin tones should wear tan or white undergarments. It results in a very clean and fresh look.  And if you're still concerned about getting it dirty keep a Tide Stain Remover pen or equivalent on you for emergencies!

Even Lexi wanted to get in on the action with this fun and vibrant mural. (Yes, my car has a name...hahahaha)

  1. I'm loving this fun, summer outfit! I always feel a little insecure wearing white, but you're right - you need the right under garments and of course confidence! Great photos btw. Keep up the great work Shas!

  2. That bright lipstick with a white outfit... fab! I still am afraid of wearing all white though, I don't just spill little things, I spill spectacularly.
