WHAT I WORE: Eva Mendes Collection

Wednesday, November 30, 2016

Here's a Shasie fact for you: I used to work at New York & Company as a side hustle my first year out of college.  I was still working full-time as an Engineer, but I wanted a part-time gig to help with student loans and support my shopping habit...lol. Working at New York & Company was my first jaunt into working retail. It was also when I completely fell in love with the clothes that the store had to offer. Previously known as LERNER, New York, I actually never really paid attention to the store. I would pass it all the time at my Mall back home in Pittsburgh, but since I was in high school at the time, I had no need to go into a store that appeared to focus heavily on work apparel.  But after I started working at NY&C, I couldn't get enough. I've been an avid shopper ever since, so over 10 years.

A few seasons back, New York & Company launched a partnership with one of my favorite actresses Eva Mendes for the . I first learned about this collection launch at Lucky Fabb. Eva Mendes was one of the keynote speakers at the conference and she talked to us about her collection for New York & Company.  Soon after the conference, I made my way to NY&C and I've been purchasing items from her collection ever since. My most recent Eva Mendes collection purchase is this two piece skirt/crop top ensemble. Whenever I see fabric like this, I instantly while I'm not spending Chanel-esque prices.
