GALLERIA MALL: FW16 Luxe Fashion Show

Friday, October 14, 2016

I'm sorry everyone! I've been so behind on blogging lately! Between work, and medical things going on, it's been really hard to keep up and stay focused! I'm going to try to hammer out a bunch this weekend! To kick-off my back-log, I have this fabulous post covering the Annual Galleria Mall Fall Fashion Show. This is the 2nd or 3rd year in row, that Simon Galleria Mall has paired up with Vogue to showcase the latest Fall Fashion offerings at the mall. The event was hosted on a Thursday night and kicked off with complimentary cocktails and lite bites to the beats of DJ Chelsea Leyland. I invited my friend and blogger gal pal, Jaclyn Kent of Beauty & the Binky to come with me to the event! We had such a fun time! We met up with other bloggers in attendance and I said hello to some friends, I haven't seen in a long time.

The fashion show kicked off around 8 pm, with an introduction by Vogue Special Events Editor Cara Crowley.  She introduced a surprise guest; Houston Texan's wide receiver Deandre Hopkins. Unfortunately, I had no idea who he was because I'm not that into the Houston Texans. My team is the Pittsburgh Steelers. I asked my co-workers who he was and they basically said I should be ashamed! Ha! Apparently he's one of the best wide receivers in the league? Oops! Well congrats Deandre, that's awesome!  The actual runway presentations were slimmed down from years past. Only a few of the stores sent clothes down the runway: Saks 5th Avenue, St. John's, La Perla, John Varvatos, and Neiman Marcus.  In between shows, the audience was entertained by a musical artist named Butterscotch. I was super impressed with her performances and like her so much, that I went onto iTunes and purchased her album! After the show, the ice rink turned runway turned into a fun after party spot with drinks flowing and the DJ spinnin'. I was even able to snap a picture with Butterscotch! Enjoy some of my photos from the event below! I'm still learning how to use my DSLR to take great runway photos, so the below photos are the best ones from the bunch!

Performing Artist Butterscotch. Her suit made me think of Janelle Monae!

Did you attend the fashion show? What did you think of the clothes?

  1. Ha! You are right... Butterscotch does have that Janelle Monae resemblance. Wish I could've been there with you guys, looks like it was fun.
