WHAT I WORE: From Brunch to WorkTuesday, September 20, 2016
For the Neiman Marcus Fall Preview Brunch, I had to wear something that would work for brunch and work. The brunch was on a Wednesday morning and I had to go directly to work after the brunch to save on my vacation hours. When it comes to wearing dresses to work, I do wear them, but because I work in a plant, I don't do it that often. 50% of my job is in the office, so it's not unheard of for us female Engineers to wear dresses to work. It's easy to change into our coveralls if we need to go into the field, but I hate having to do all that nuisance changing, so for the most part I wear pants to work.
When I do wear a dress, I always go for "longer the better". I'm pretty tall, so I try to wear dresses that go to my knees or longer, when I go to work, otherwise I think it would be too much leg exposure for the office. I thought this dress was very appropriate for work and my fashion brunch. I love this shirt dress, but it is very hard to keep from being wrinkled. Some fabrics are just like that...like linen...no matter how hard you try to steam, starch, iron, those bad boy wrinkles are coming back the first time you sit!
As far as my accessories? Sometimes I like to be a little quirky; as in wearing two necklaces. I couldn't decide between them, so I decided to wear both! Why not? There's no law that says you have to only wear one necklace! What looks do you wear to work that you can also use for an offsite event during the day or in the evening?
