OPENING NIGHT RUNWAY: Cushnie et Ochs, Norisol Ferrari, Angel Sanchez, Ralph Rucci and Carmen dell'OrificeSaturday, November 28, 2015
For night one of Heart of Fashion, I chose to sit in my seat for most of the show, to scope out the scene. This was Heart of Fashion's inaugural debut and I didn't know what to expect. I figured it'd be good to sit and take it all in. Therefore, most of my nighttime runway shots from Night 1 are from the side. After mingling with friends in the lobby area, we headed into the tent that held the runway. The VIP seats, that cost $700 were posh leather seats and lined the runway in group seating formation. Each VIP area had mini tables for snack and drinks. there were 4 sections of rowed seats behind the VIP seats. Each seat had a goodie bag and a program. After taking my seat, I took some shots of the runway before the show started.
Night one showcased three designer collections; Cushnie et Ochs, Norisol Ferrari, and Angel Sanchez. I'm a big fan of the Cushnie et Ochs brand after my first exposure to them occurred a couple New York Fashion Weeks ago. This was my first time viewing Ferrari's, and this was my 2nd time viewing a runway by Angel Sanchez. All three of the collections were great, but unfortunately I had some "camera" issues for the first two, but I was able to capture a few good looks from each runway.
Following the 3 collections, Designer Ralph Rucci made a special trip to Houston to present model Carmen dell' Orifice with the Texas Legacy Award. Carmen dell'Orifice is one of the oldest working models of our time. She has graced numerous magazine covers, and walked runways of some of the best fashion houses in the world. It was awesome to have Carmen here in Houston at our event! Congrats to her on such an amazing career!
