HALLOWEEN: Costume Ideas Part 2 - The Quick FixThursday, October 29, 2015
There are some years, in which finding a costume for Halloween is more hassle than it's worse. And because the task is daunting (long lines, limited options, sold-out) you may give up on the costume all together. However you don't want to be the only person out on Halloween with your friends, without anything...and that's where the quick fix comes in handy. The quick fix is what I call buying one item that automatically gives you points for Halloween participation. Whether it's a funny hat, wig, makeup, or a prop, it's just one thing that you can add to your normal look to have fun, and not have on a costume! Check out my , Sometimes you don't feel like going full costume for Halloween, and that's ok! For these times, my non-cliche picks below!
Everyone loves a good hat for Halloween. Whether it's a viking hat, pirate hat, witches hat, you name it. But instead of going completely traditional with one of these, why not try the mini-hat versions? I love these cute little toppers for Halloween, and better yet? You are less likely to hit the person next to you with your hat!
MINI PIRATE HATS
FEDORA & RINGMASTER HAT
MINI WITCH HAT
LAMP SHADE & POOP EMOJI
Cat-ears are the automatic choice when it comes to headbands, but try some of these other fun options instead!
80'S DISCO & BUNNY EARS
MEDUSA & EGYPTIAN PHARAOH
LIGHT UP BOW & TIGER EARS
When it comes to picking out a wig for Halloween, the Cleopatra blunt cut, or the Marilyn Monroe curly blonde bob come to mind. Steer clear of these overused wigs this weekend, and go for one of these! If all else fails, just grab a brightly colored one!
LILLY MUNSTER & RED MEDUSA WIG
GRANDMA & MILKMAID BRAIDS
NOTHING BUT FACE
We all know how popular the Scream, Jason, and Freddie Kruger masks are for Halloween, but why not shake things up a bit! Try a dinosaur from Jurassic World, or an obscure superhero, like Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy. I for one am not a big fan of masks. They not only "creep" me out, but I can't imagine having one on all night. I personally would opt for makeup! Whether you want to be a blood-thirsty Vampire, or give yourself whiskers, makeup kits are readily available, or you can just use your own makeup and have fun experimenting with those colors that you've always avoided for regular every day use!
GLITTER LIPSTICK, BLACK LIPSTICK, GLIMMER EYESHADOW
If all else fails, walking around with a prop is more than likely to get you noticed!
SOFT CAPTAIN AMERICAN SHIELD & FOAM MINECRAFT SWORD
DOUBLE-SIDED NINJA SWORD & SWAT SHIELD
