Hey guys! I'm getting ready to ramp up some new segments on other social media platforms that I use for my blog, and as a segway, I'm trying out a new segment on my blog called Fashion Friday Roundup! During the roundup, I'll provide my thoughts and opinions on top fashion news of the week, national and/or local, share my favorite style inspirations, and my go-to of the week.  Check out the post below and let me know what you think!

The biggest news this week, was the announcement that Raf Simons, Creative Director for Christian Dior, is leaving the fashion house. Last year, I attended the screening of Dior and I at the Houston Film Festival and fell in love with the House of Dior, Raf, his team, and the labor of love behind Haute Couture! I even shed a tear at the end of the film when he was getting emotional and his first collection debuted. It was one of the best fashion documentaries I've ever seen, and I've been #TeamRaf ever since! So imagine my surprise when The Business of Fashion posted about his departure from the fashion house yesterday! Super shocked! Apparently it was for personal reasons.  It's not that I don't want to believe Raf, but after a successful 3.5 half years, you can't help but wonder why he's leaving? Regardless, Raf punched out some amazing collections during his time at Dior. I'm sure he'll be missed! I for one, wish Raf the best and look forward to what he'll be doing next. Speaking of next, I guess we'll be anxiously waiting to see who will take his place at Dior! Those are big shoes to fill!

While the collection doesn't officially hit stores until November 5th, there's no shortage of promotion and partying going on for the Balmain x H+M collaboration. Olivier Rousteing, Creative Director for Balmain, hosted a party Tuesday night, that doubled as a runway show for the collection. His Balmain army was there in full force, and It Girl Models and BFFs Kendall Jenner & Gigi Hadid walked the runway.  As if that wasn't enough, there was a surprise performance by the Backstreet Boys! Swoon! In highschool, I was #TeamBackstreetBoys and had the biggest crush on AJ and Kevin Richardson. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait a little bit longer to get our hands on the collection in stores, but if you're curious on price points and what the pieces look like, head over to to check out the gallery.  I am a bit surprised at the pricing. Some of the pieces are over $600....cut the jokes...this is H&M.

Aquazzurra Shoe designer, Edgardo Osorio will be in town next Wednesday, October 28th to host Dress for Dinner's second fundraiser event of the season. The event will be at Saks 5th Avenue, Houston Galleria Mall.  Patrons of Saks can meet the designer before the event and receive an autograph with purchase from 3-5 pm. If you can't make the autograph signing, there's still time to purchase tickets for the main event that starts at 6:00! Yours truly will be there covering the event as press! Click the link above to purchase tickets with $5.00 off.

Houston Community College Central's Annual Fundraiser Fashion Competition, Flash & Trash returns tonight! Designers are challenged with creating wearable garments from re-purposed mixed media. This year's categories are: Trash to Treasure, Plastic Fantastic, Pulp Fiction, Red Carpet Couture, Incredible Edibles, & Metal Mania. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $12 and the event is being held at Heinen Theater, 3517 Austin Street. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm.

I follow a plethora of fashion influencers, bloggers, designers, etc across all of my social media channels and see many looks throughout the week. Some looks stand out to me more than others! In this segment I'll be featuring my favorite looks from the week!

Rocsi Diaz
This one's a bit of a cheat, as it's a favorite from about 3 weeks ago, but since I'm just starting this feature on my blog, I'm going to share it now! Everything about this outfit is perfect. Rocsi easily transforms an otherwise "night out on the town" sequin shirt into a work/day appropriate look! I for one will be looking for a way to wear a similar look!

My go-to for the week was my favorite leather and suede Hammitt LA Handbag! I love the red contrast zipper against the black!

This cute sequin top is adorable! Not only does it sparkle but it's reasonably priced!
