Vogue Brings Celebrity Guests to Houston Galleria Mall's Annual Fashion ShowTuesday, September 29, 2015
Most Houstonians are unable to go to New York for fashion week, but that doesn't mean we can't have our own prestigious fashion show right here in Houston! Every September, the Galleria mall puts on a fashion show, co-sponsored by Cadillac. For the first couple of years it coincided with Vogue/CFDA's Fashion's Night Out Initiative and was called Simon Fashion Now. When Fashion Night Out ended, the Simon Galleria Mall event restructured to a one night VIP-Invite only fashion show hosted by Vogue Editors and special out of town guests. I've managed to miss the event for the last two years due to actually being in New York for fashion week, but this time around I was in town.
This year's fashion show featured looks from Neiman Marcus, Ermenegildo Zegna, Saks 5th Avenue, CH by Carolina Herrera, John Varvatos, & Salvatore Ferragamo. The runway was hosted by Vogue Director of Special Events and Market Stylist, Cara Crowley. Celebrity Stylist, Johnny Wujek, was scheduled to come, but due to a funeral he was no longer able to attend. Instead Houston, welcomed celebrity fashion stylist, Micaela Erlanger. Keeping the runway bumping, and guests dancing before and after the show, celebrity Dj and model Hannah Bronfman spun the ones and twos.
I had a second row media seat for the runway. The models were provided by Page Parkes, and the looks were fabulous. I apologize for some of my blurry photos. I still have to learn how to work this dslr for side runway shots. My other camera was actually better at this, than my dslr! At one point, I just stopped taking pictures with my camera. LOL. After the show, I was sketched by Fashion Illustrator Rongrong Devoe. I'll share more about my sketch experience and the after party on my next blog post! Stay Tuned, but in the meantime, enjoy photos from the runway event below!
