NEW YORK FASHION WEEK: Day Six Favorites - Spring 2016 CollectionsFriday, September 18, 2015
New York Fashion Week has come and gone, but I'm still wrapping up my coverage! Today's posts features my favorite collections from Day 6. I probably had the most favorites of all week on this day. Several designer collections that I liked, I'm unable to share because I don't have usage right photos for them and those are Alice & Olivia & Badgley Mischka. I also liked the collections by Coach & Rodarte but not all of the looks, so to stay true to my other posts, I'm picking my top four from designer collections in which I loved all of the looks.
Yesterday, I was in love with super feminine collections and today, I'm in love with the edgy, tough girl. Diesel Black Gold and Vera Wang's collections were both edgy, and dark. They featured see-through fabrics, leather, cut-outs and skin baring tops. I also fell in love with the plethora of separates presented by Nanette Lepore. Her collection was playful and fun, and while I love dresses and other all-in-one pieces, I do love having a closet full of separates. Separates allow the trendsetter to mix & match their wardrobe and remix looks. However, I can't stay away from uber feminine collections, even when I try, and that's why Peter Copping's collection for Oscar De La Renta comes in at #4. Peter presented a beautiful collection that had a strong focus on red flowers. The bold red hue, the model's hair and their bold red lips gave off a Spanish vibe reminding me of Flamenco dancers.
#1 - VERA WANG
#2 - DIESEL BLACK GOLD
#3 - NANETTE LEPORE
#4 - Sophie Theallet
#5 - OSCAR DE LA RENTA
