EVENT RECAP: Love's in Fashion for Dec My Room

Thursday, February 19, 2015

Texans football players, socialites, fashion, macaroons and donations all came together for a great cause at Tootsies last week. On Wednesday, February 11, 2015, Tootsies hosted their fourth annual Love's in Fashion event for Dec My Room. Dec My Room is an organization that enhances the room of children who are admitted into the hospital for a prolonged amount of time.

Before and after the fashion show guests were able to mingle and try goodies from various sponsors. The music was upbeat and everyone was networking and enjoying each others company. Guests took pictures and mingled before getting ready to enjoy the fashion show.

There was no shortage of goodies! There were tons of goodies to try!

The music was upbeat and everyone was having a great time. Everyone knew they were there for a great cause. Some of the guests were planning and picking out items they were going to purchase that night with proceeds of purchases also going to the charity. Tootsies has a great selection of high end designer items. The store is very organized and everything is very chic.

In addition to donations, guests could bid on various items through a silent auction. Upon walking into Tootsies, there was a long glass table that showcased the items available for bid. All the guests had to do was write their name and their highest bid on the form adjacent to the item. There were many impressive things to bid on such as purses, photography sessions and even a Texans' football signed by the players.

The fashion show was kicked-off with a performance by the Texans' Cheerleaders

These couples were the ones to open the show. Everyone looked amazing! The couples  looked so cute and fashionable, of course. All the couples did a funny dance, cute pose or a romantic kiss at the end of the runway. Everyone was incredibly happy to be strutting their stuff to support Dec my Room.

After a few of the featured couples walked the runway, Tootsies sent seasoned models down the runway in some of their newest offerings. Everything was beautiful! My favorite was a sequined crop top with black pants. They showed a different outfit for every different occasion.

The last set of fashionable couples for the night, came out to their walk before the second fashion show; there was even a cute little doggy. Again, the couples did a funky move at the end of the runway. It’s always good to know that there are people who are willing to take a little time out of their day to support a good cause, such as Dec my Room.

I completely fell in love with this look. It's different from anything I've ever seen before!

The second and last part of the fashion began. This time around the pieces selected were very different than anything I've seen before. The crowd was just as energized as they were at the beginning of the night. The show ended great with this last fashion show.

And of course the Texans' mascot, Toro ended the show! Everyone was surprised he attended the event!

At the end Susan Plank (right), co-founder of Dec My Room, walked the runway. Can you believe she is still in college? Women like this, who are making such great change at such a young age are truly remarkable.
