EVENT RECAP: Skinny Sipping Mixer

Thursday, October 16, 2014

On Thursday, October 9th, The Skinny Center hosted the Skinny Sipping Mixer at Langford Market Rice Village to benefit The Rose. The Skinny Center is a body wrap and wellness retreat and Langford Market is one of their national partners.  They hosts events with Langford Market every quarter. This quarter their event benefited The Rose. The Rose is a non-profit breast cancer organization which assists women with breast health care. During the mixer there were cookies and cocktails provide by Skinny Girl Cocktails for guests to enjoy. Guests also enjoyed The Cure Fashion Show which featured two breast cancer survivors. Models walked in trendy outfits from Langford Market.  During the event, guests were able to purchase items at Langford Market and a percentage of the proceeds went to The Rose. At the end of the night, guests walked away with goodie bags filled with a wine opener, Skinny Center 'Olive & Adam' beauty creams and a Skinny Girl key chain (which by the way was adorable).

The Rose reduces deaths from breast cancer by providing access to screening, diagnostics and treatment services to woman regardless of her ability to pay.

Parked outside of Langford Market was a cute little mobile truck for The Rose. The Rose uses this truck to do Mammography around town.
Models walked in clothes sold by Langford Market. I am in love with the jumpsuit, I need it in my closet!

There were different styles through out the night.  From skirts to shorts, Langford Market and The Rose went above and beyond with the styles.
Guests were just as fashionable as the models. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and the fashion but everyone was there for one main reason, to support The Rose.

The Rose and Langford Market added a special touch to the fashion show by having two Breast Cancer survivors walk the runway. Sasha Klein (left) and Nhu Fenske (right) shared their stories with guests after the show. They both received flowers and a thank you from The Rose. Nhu Fenske is also the founder of Pink Peonies Foundation and let me know about an event on December 6th for the foundation, which I hope to have more details on soon!

The Skinny Sipping Mixer benefiting The Rose was a success. Everyone enjoyed the goodies, the fashion, talking to the survivors and models, and of course the shopping. I will most definitely return to Langford Market to pick up that jumpsuit!
