MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK: Deola Sagoe and Clan Debut at MBFWFriday, September 19, 2014
Nigerian Fashion designer Deola Sagoe, presented her namesake collection for the first time at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (MBFW), but she wasn't alone! Her three daughters, Tena, Aba, & Tiwa Sagoe, who design for the fashion label CLAN, also presented their collection at MBFW. I love the diversity that MBFW has started to show by featuring emerging designers, and more international designers. CLAN presented first, sending models down the runway with cute Nubian knots. I loved the numbers on the looks! The numbers gave their looks a sporty feel but due to their fabric choices, the clothes could be statement pieces. After CLAN, Deola Sagoe designs came down the runway. There was definitely a design aesthetic difference between the two labels. Deola Sagoe featured more classic and feminine silhouettes, while CLAN featured edgier styles. I liked both collections, but I could see myself more in the CLAN looks! Check out both collections below!
