LLIS TRAVELS: Nightcap at The Refuge BarSaturday, August 02, 2014
Our last stop Friday night for our #GOHOUSTONGNO Blogger Staycation was at The Refuge Bar in The Woodlands' Waterway center. Our scheduled arrival time was 9:30 pm, but we pushed it back to allow some time to recover from all the food we ate at Hyatt Market Street Kitchen. The original plan was for all of us to meet at The Refuge Bar, but we opted to take a chartered vehicle to get there and Hyatt Market Street arranged it for us. I thought we were going to be transported in a yellow cab, or an uber or lyft vehicle, but no, no...the Hyatt had other plans for us! When I came downstairs looking for a small car, I found this huge Mercedes-Benz Limo Van from Limo Direct waiting outside to take us to The Refuge Bar! How fun? I've always wanted to ride in a VIP Mercedes-Benz van, lol! Now I can take that off of my bucket list. Our chauffeur was especially fun and nice and helped us in and out of the van.
Ok, after more than a few photos with the van, we arrived at The Refuge Bar.
Our hosts at the bar sat us in a quaint little corner of the bar. I liked our area. It was quiet enough on that side to have a normal-voice-level conversation and still enjoy the live band.

Switch! Now I'm in the pic!
After the photo session we each picked out a drink for our complimentary night cap.
And then of course when they all arrived there was more photo taking. I loved the composition of all the drinks together! It made for a great photo!
I ordered the Bellini and it was YUMMMMYY. I have to say, this weekend I had the most alcoholic beverages I've had in a long time! lol
I liked the ambiance of The Refuge Bar. The dim lights made it quaint, and it wasn't too loud. Now that I'm in my 30s, I'm just looking for nice spots to go and hang out and have a good conversation. I don't want to be in a place where it's so crowded that people are spilling drinks on me, or I have to wait in an hour long line at the bar to place an order...and evenmoreso I want to be able to hear myself think. The Refuge Bar was the perfect place for everything I enjoy in nightlife. The band was good, and they even gave me a wave and smile when I went to take their picture!
So apparently you can leave a drink for someone! This is a cool concept! Maybe one day someone will leave a drink for me!
I also liked the area where The Refuge Bar was located. It was pretty outside with all the lights on the trees.
I love the concept of the Grab 'N Go lunch! Especially if you work somewhere where you only get 30 minutes for lunch!
Right now it's been a little too hot for me to sit outside and enjoy it, but I would definitely sit out here on a milder night!
What's a night out without an #OOTN picture?
