When did you first know that you wanted to be Fashion Stylist?
I have always had passion for fashion-- ever since I can remember. When I was a little girl, I was first inspired by my mother and my grandmother, followed by supermodels, magazines and fashion shows.

How did you get your start?
It all started when I won my first fashion stylist competition at the age of 6.

Who are some of your go to brands when it comes to styling your clients?
I work with both high profile designers and upcoming designers. I also work with showrooms and department stores. It really depends on the client and their budget.

How much say do your clients have in what they wear?

My clients and I decide on a look together. My client's opinion is very important to me. I want them to feel comfortable, confident and beautiful when they wear the chosen ensemble. They have a message to relay to the world and that message is also conveyed through what they wear.  My job is simply to enhance their personal style.

Why do celebrities and people in general choose to use stylists?
I think they all have different reasons and it really varies. Some will want to use my services because of my extensive experience and keen eye for details. While others just want to have a makeover with a fashion professional who knows what's in and what's not and what works for their bodies and what doesn’t.  There are so many reasons to work with a stylist. A good example of having a stylist: Having a legal issue and having to go to court to defend yourself without an attorney.

Do you have a preference when it comes to styling? Event, red carpet, TV, music video, etc?

No, I don't and I don’t have a favorite when it comes to my clientele.  I love styling my clients whether it's a mega-superstar or a housewife and mother of six. I don't mind if it's a red carpet event or a simple business meeting. Everyone wants to look their best and I make that happen!
We love that you style for everyone, but of course we have to ask who are the famous people you have styled in your career.
I have worked with many!  A-List actress Claire Danes, members of the Hilfiger & Parisi family, Americas Next Top Model and Miss California Natalie Pack, Gretchen Rossi from Beverly Hills Housewives, GQ & FHM model Carissa Rosario, Mega-Superstar Armenian Artist Armenchik, successful Sony Executives &  famous fashion designers. I’ve also styled for magazines, malls, LA Fashion Week and more.

How did/do you build trust with brands that you pull from?
There are several critical factors to consider when pulling a gown from a designer and yes, trust is the key component.
  1. Always follow the designer's policy
  2. Take good care of the items pulled
  3. Return items on time
  4. Maintain a good relationship
How do you go about obtaining style gigs?
As an established fashion stylist in Hollywood, I receive many offers to participate in different gigs and style clients where I am able to pick and choose. Mostly, gigs are based on recommendations from previous and current clients.

Who's on your wishlist of clients to style?
I would love to style Charlize Theron and Angelina Jolie.

Tell us more about your work with charities.

I strongly believe in helping others. I have my own charity, Sima’s Wish, benefiting the National Breast Cancer Foundation. It's dedicated to my mother-in-law who was a victim of breast cancer. I also teach my children the importance of helping others. They actually have their own charity called, Kids Helping Kids, benefiting Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and the Rose and Alex PiIibos School. In the past I have supported and continue to support numerous charities including The American Heart Association, The Lancaster Opera House, S.A.F.E., Project T.O.U.C.H, We Care for Humanity, Armenian Telethon along with various fundraising events and activities.

Do you have any go to fashion tips?
  1. Know Your Body: Know your measurements before you shop. It cuts down the time you spend trying on clothes & helps you choose outfits that fit your body perfectly. The most important body parts to measure are your chest, bust, waist and hips.
  2. Don't Go Too Loose or Too Tight: I can't stress enough how important it is to dress for your size. You have to make sure the clothes aren't too tight or too baggy.
  3. Try On Three Different Shoe Sizes, Not Just One: Shoe sizes vary among designers and brands. First, try on your normal shoe size, then try on one pair that's a half-size smaller and a second pair that's a half-size larger. And when in doubt, buy the shoes that are a half-size larger.
  4. Know Your Colors: It's crucial to know which colors flatter your skin tone, either warm or cold. For instance, women with cool undertones look best in shades of blue, white, gray, silver and black. Women with warm undertones look fabulous in shades of yellow, green, red and gold.
  5. Double-Sided Tape is a Miracle: This is my personal must have, whether I'm styling a client, dressing myself or even my children. The tape keeps the plunging necklines in place and prevent any fashion mishaps.

Do you only style women or have you styled men too?

I style both women and men. In fact my last male client was Armenian superstar, Armenchik.

Favorite Designers?
I have many favorite designers. Avant Garde fashion designers include Zuhair Murad, Stephane Rolland, Christian Dior, & Ellie Saab amongst many others. I also support the upcoming designers who are very talented and need the recognition. After all, it is extremely challenging making it in the fashion industry.
