WHAT I WORE: My Printed Wine Dress

Saturday, April 05, 2014

Since my plan last Wednesday night was to attend as many events as possible, I wanted to wear something comfy, yet chic that would allow me to easily hop from place to place. What's more comfy chic than a fit & flare dress with mid-heel pumps? If this dress fit the bill perfectly then why is it the dress I never wanted? I had ordered this dress from Macy's plus-size department back in February to wear to a few 'Go Red For Women' heart health events, but when I received them (because I ordered 2 red dresses) I realized they were not the color red that I was hoping for...:-(. The two dresses were wine in color instead of vibrant red...what a bummer. This is the problem with ordering online! Instead of returning them, I decided to keep them and just wear them to other events when the opportunity came and one came last Wednesday. This dress is by Soprano, one of the plus-size brands featured at Macy's. I loved the faux leather details and the brocade/damask/baroque (I don't know which one) print on the dress. This flower is one of my favorite accessories because Fatima, from Flowers from Fatima on Etsy, made it for me to wear as the Maid of Honor in my sister's wedding. I absolutely LOVE this flower.  In addition to the flower, I paired the dress with silver and black accessories.

    1. Haha, yep it's definitely a noticeable red/wine, but I was looking for Dorothy Slipper red! :-) I thought the flower was a nice added touch!
