SMIRNOFF HUB: Recipe of the Month - Holiday Red Apple

Wednesday, December 11, 2013

Nothing spells romance like the bells, smells, chills and thrills of December. The holidays naturally add a little shine to our days and loving kindness to our attitudes at this time of year. And since these are the longest nights of the year for those in the Northern Hemisphere, make the most of them! Here are some high- and low-pressure options for enjoying one-on-one time with a loved one – whether it’s keeping the flame burning with a long-term partner, igniting a first date spark, bonding with a close friend or a cozy night in with your favorite pet.
Splurge: take a sleigh ride. It’s corny and old-timey and totally worth it.
Save: Cuddle up with your favorite holiday movie and simple, sultry cocktails at home. Try the recipe for the SMIRNOFF Holiday Red Apple!

SMIRNOFF Holiday Red Apple
1.5 oz. SMIRNOFF® Green Apple Flavored Vodka
3 oz. Cranberry juice
Preparation: Fill glass with ice. Add SMIRNOFF Green Apple Vodka and cranberry juice. Stir well.
Garnish: Lime
Glassware: Highball glass
Get Active
High Pressure: Challenge one another to a winter hike –bracing cold and higher altitude will make the fire and hot cocoa to follow that much cozier.
Low pressure: Go ice skating. Most of us look a little silly doing it. No matter how poor your skills, you can trip, slip, giggle and spin in circles together for hours.

Be Inspired
High Culture: take in your local town’s best holiday entertainment, whether it’s the Radio City Christmas Spectacular or your neighbor’s child’s nativity play.
No Reservations Necessary: do some local sightseeing and take a drive around to admire other people’s holiday light displays.

Disclosure: I am working in partnership with the SMIRNOFF brand and I am receiving rewards for my participation in this campaign. All thoughts/opinions are 100% my own. Drink is intended for those for whom alcohol is legal and appropriate. Please Drink Responsibly!
