EVENT RECAP: West Ave Turns PinkSunday, November 03, 2013
As we all know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Like any other location, Houston has a plethora of events that focus on bringing awareness to this horrible disease. I try to attend as many as possible or at least give donations. This month was so crazy that I only made it to two: West Ave Turns Pink, and the "I Am Fierce" Fashion Extravaganza. The West Ave Turns Pink event was held in partnership with CultureMap and benefited the Pink Ribbons Project. For a suggested donation of $20 or $25 dollars guests could enter the transformed space and sample goodies from the West Ave Restaurants, enjoy a cocktail, and visit with West Ave shops that set-up a booth. I discovered a new boutique called Ivannia, which I fell in love with. I loved the jewelry they had on display and the associate was super nice. Not going to lie, I also made my way to every single food table present, and stuffed my face. I even made repeated appearances at Del Frisco Grille's table for the Philly Cheese Egg Roll, which was my fave lite bite from the night. I love events at West Ave because I like that they are outdoors, it just gives the event a unique feel that's different from other events that I attend around the city. At night the scene was gorgeous with the lights and all the pink.
