The Women's Home Renew & Redux Fashion Show

Monday, September 02, 2013

A few weeks ago I attended The Women's Home annual reNew and reDux fashion show at the Wortham Center.  I love fashion events at the Wortham. Wortham is home to Houston's top fashion week: Fashion Houston.  This event was created to help raise funds for The Women's Home and has grown bigger every year.  The Women's home, started in 1957, was created to help women who have been through struggles get back on their feet.  They specifically focus on women who are homeless or on the verge of homelessness.

The fashion show was produced by Lenny Matuszewski. All of the garments and accessories were donated by Houston socialites and retailers for the runway and to sell at The Women's Home Cottage Thrift Shop.  The shop was brought mobile to the event at wortham, and patrons could shop the donations before and after the runway show.  In addition to shopping, and watching the runway, guests could bid on items donated for a silent auction. Everything from meals for 2, to golf equipment were donated for the auction.  The Fashion show started promptly at 7 and was split into 8 scenes. Check out the fashions from the runway below:

SCENE I - CLASSIC ReDux

SCENE II - COLOR THERAPY

SCENE III - AUTUMN SONATA

SCENE IV - FINE PRINT

SCENE V - GRAY EXPECTATIONS

SCENE VI - NOUVEAU ROMANTICS

SCENE VII - MIDNIGHT SPECIAL

SCENE VIII - COLOR OF THE NIGHT
