THE EVENT: Sara Blaine Jewelry Event

Tuesday, August 20, 2013

A few Thursdays ago, I was invited to a private Blogger Styling event at Avalon Diner for Sara Blaine Jewelry for Willow House.  Willow House is a company that used to sell home decor, but they are moving to jewelry by selling an exclusive for Willow House collection from Sara Blaine. Watch the video below to learn about the jewelry designer.

Meet Designer Sara Blaine

For our introduction to the brand, Sarah Shah, an image consultant at Sarahshah.com partnered with Willow House Representative Suzanne Joffrion to host an event for bloggers to come and learn about the collection.  About 5-6 bloggers were invited included my blogger buddies: Nikki & Val of Style to Envy, Nikki of My Beauty Bag, Shana of Hautess.com, & Renae Virata of Wearever the Weather, It was a fun event! I really liked the location...a diner! You can check out my Diner Style outfit HERE. The diner is owned by the one and only Bambi Lynn of Blinc by Bambi Lynn & Page Parkes a good friend of Sarah's who offered us complimentary food and yummy diner style milkshakes!!

THE STYLE CHALLENGES
Upon arrival to the event, each blogger was given a name tag, a bedazzled name tag lanyard, and this cut sheet about the event. On the cut-sheet we were given 6 style challenges.  We were to use the Sara Blaine jewelry to create each of the challenges.

CHALLENGE #1: MAKE A STATEMENT PIECE BY LAYERING NECKLACES
For this one, I was really drawn to the earth-tone pieces provided and wanted to create a look with the greens, grays and browns. I would have wanted a 4th necklace that would have been mid-length between the choker length and the long length, but I didn't find a piece that fit with what I was going for.  I added a brown wrap bracelet to the ensemble, even though the challenge was necklaces....

CHALLENGE #2: MIX & MATCH EARRINGS, NECKLACES, BRACELETS AND/OR RINGD TO MAKE A CUSTOM SET.
I went with Shades of blue for this one! I really loved the fact that my model was wearing all black, it made it easy to accessories. I tried to grab everything on the table that was blue to put together my Shades of blue look below.

CHALLENGE 3 & 6 Simple teen look, and one piece 3 ways
For this challenge, I had to think back to my teen years. A lot of teens are always trying to define themselves and may actually push the accessories to the limit, so to come up with a simple look I had to think. I opted for this blue and white stone necklace for a simple alternative. However, if my teen were looking to change it up, she could wear this necklace 3 different ways as stated for challenge #6.

THE JEWELRY

I really liked this necklace because it reminded me of candy! I also thought it would be fun to pair this jewelry with this top
So what was in the bag?
