PRODUCT REVIEW: TOM FORD PRIVATE BLEND

Friday, December 28, 2012

About a month or so ago, the Houston Fashion Bloggers were invited to review Tom Ford's new fragrance collection titled The Private Blend Collection at Saks 5th Avenue Houston.  When you purchase the Tom Ford Private Blend Collection you receive this cool book with information on why Tom Ford started this line, and a detailed description of each scent.  The collection has 12 Fragrances, in which I sampled the ones highlighted below. I really liked Black Violet and Noir de Noir.
  1. Azure Lime - Dynamic. Brilliant. Effortless.
  2. Neroli PortoFino - Vibrant. Sparkling. Transportive.
  3. Black Violet - Fresh. Retro. Fruity.
  4. Tuscan Leather - Supple. Primal. Extravagant.
  5. Noir de Noir - Dark. Sexy. Indulgent.
  6. Amber Absolute - Classic. Modern. Elegant.
  7. Champaca Absolute - Intricate. Mysterious. Passionate.
  8. Tobacco Vanille - Opulent. Warm. Iconic.
  9. Oud Wood - Rare. Exotic. Distinctive.
  10. Italian Cypress - Crisp. Innovative. Sophisticated.
  11. Arabian Woods - Mystical. Eternal. Urbane.
  12. Bois Marocain - Exotic. Woodsy. Rich.

"Private blend is my own scent laboratory; It's where I have the ability to create very special, original fragrances that are unconstrained by the conventions of mainstream scent-making. Private blend is designed with the true fragrance connoisseur in mind"  ~Tom Ford

What I really loved about the Tom Ford collection was the architecture of the bottles, and I think I'm generating a new obsession for perfume bottles more than the fragrances inside.  Lately perfume bottles are becoming more and more artistic.  Tom wanted to create bottles that would be appeasing to the eye sitting on your vanity or dresser.
