FASHION HOUSTON 2012: Opening Night Designers

Sunday, November 18, 2012

Last week (Nov. 12-15th) was fashion week here in Houston.  I was able to attend each night as press courtesy of Fashion Houston.  2012 marked the 3rd year for Fashion Houston , and I had a great time. I love Fashion Shows...especially quality ones.  It was also fun mingling with my fashion industry friends.  In addition to me receiving press passes, two different bloggers from my organization Houston Fashion Bloggers attended as press each night too and we made sure to take lots of pictures.

Fashion Houston features local, national, & international designers bringing in some of the biggest names from the major fashion weeks to showcase here in Houston.  Guest were privy to seeing the collections of Georges Chakra, Laurel Berman, Rabih Kayrouz, and Lubov Azria on opening night.

GEORGES CHAKRAGeorges Chakra is a native of Lebanon and has showcased his collections at Paris Fashion Week twice a year since 2002.  For his Spring collection he brought the razzle dazzle with shimmer and sparkle.  I loved the shimmer against the pastels. It was just the right mix of feminine and pizazza, and I would definitely wear his pieces.

LAUREL BERMAN - Black Halo & Black Halo Eve
Laurel Berman was born in Spokane, but now resides in Los Angeles, California where she continues to develop her brand.  Her overall design aesthetic is the "all-in-one" garment, resonating Jackie O with a lot of her looks.  A girl would feel very feminine in her clothes and confident in the office.

RABIH KAYROUZ - MAISON COLLECTION

MAX &LUBOV AZRIA - BCBGMAZAZRIA
Max & Lubov Azria, creative designers behind BCBGMazAzriaGroup showcased their BCBGMaxAzria collection on opening night of Fashion Houston 2012. Max is a native of Paris and in 1989 launched his own company BCBGMazAzria. BGMAXAZRIA is a top fashion powerhouse today, aquired the house of Herve Leger and redefined it in 2007.

Which collection from Fashion Houston 2012 did you like the best? It's hard to pick isn't it?
