THE EVENT: Nail Art at Addison Shoes

Thursday, July 19, 2012

What can I say? I love all the American Apparel (AA) Concept Stores that are located here in Houston, from DuO to Addison Shoes, I love them! I've had the best blog partnerships with them, and shopping experiences and Addison even hosted one of our first Houston Fashion Blogger meetups in February (see post here), so I love to support them in whatever they are doing as they support us bloggers tremendously. What's really cool about the AA stores is that they really allow their employees to be apart of their process and marketing strategies. Employees get to come up with ideas to drive traffic, they style the mannequins, it's just really fun! Danni, one of the managers of Addison Shoes at Memorial City Mall, came up with the idea to host a nail-art party last Thursday.  Imani and I attended and had fun times doing our nails. As a fashion blogger, I have to say that I don't spend much time on my nails...and I should, but I'm also on the computer all day long typing or in the field and either one just ruins the nails, so it's a waste of time and money for me, but for free? Sure!

Danni and her impressive nail collection

Danny doing the base coat and color on my nails. She had great tips for us too!

Ooooh how fun is Danni's design?

Imani's turn!
Danni did the first hand and then had you do your second hand. This is my attempt at trying to do the Chevron myself (photo on the right). Of course when I was done with that, I started perusing the store. It's hard to shop when you're waiting for your nails to dry, so I shopped through my camera.

I did it!!

I love the matte finish of Imani's base color

  5. I tend to keep my toenails painted and my fingernails plain, but neat. Though being a blogger is not my reason why. It's just that I get tired of having to repaint them every week. Polish on the toes lasts much longer. Anyway, it looks like you had a great time. The heels are very cute. Good job with the nails.
