Trayvon Martin - 17 year old African-American Male - Murdered - For No Reason

Unless you've been living under a rock for the last few weeks, you may not have noticed that pending chaos/unrest/turmoil/rallies and possibly riots may be in our future in regards to the unnecessary loss of life that occurred on February 26th.

DISCLAIMER - The following embedded video is raw audio from the scuffle and shooting. It is hard to listen too as you just can hear the fear in the boys voice which is silenced by a gunshot....

Synopsis:
Trayvon was with his father visiting his Dad's girlfriend in a predominantly white neighborhood. A gated community in Sanford Florida that under guidance from their police department created a neighborhood watch program, that Mr. Zimmerman elected himself to spearhead and do the neighborhood patrols.  During an All-Star game break on TV Trayvon decided to walk to a local Seven-Eleven (A convenient store here in the US) to get some snacks and picked up a pack of Skittles and an Arizona Iced Tea (Clearly items of extreme danger, at least they were to Mr. Zimmerman).

Upon return to the house he was visiting, he noticed that he was being followed by a man in a truck. He was on Trayvon was on the phone with his girlfriend and stated, "That dude is following me." His girlfriend later on the call instructed him to run, and it's believe that when Trayvon started running, Mr. Zimmerman jumped out of his car and pursued Trayvon.  The girlfriend was still on the phone and heard Trayvon say, "Why are you following me?" and she heard another voice say, "What are you doing around here" (Basically asking why this "black boy was in his predominantly white neighborhood).  Next she heard a scuffle, someone yelling for help and a gunshot and all went silent.  Later she would learn that Trayvon had been shot in the chest by Mr. Zimmerman.

In the last few weeks post this horrendous incident, more and more information has been coming to light in the media. First, before Mr. Zimmerman got out of his car he called 9-1-1, and stated to the responder, "This guy looks like he’s up to no good or on drugs or something,” Mr. Zimmerman told dispatch, in his initial call. “It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.” Mr. Zimmerman continued: “He’s here now just looking at all the houses. Now he’s just staring at me.” Then he added a second later: “He’s coming to check me out. He’s got something in his hands. I don’t know what his deal is. Can you get an officer over here?”Then he got out of the car with his licensed 9-millimeter pistol, and a worried dispatcher asked: “Are you following him? O.K., you don’t need to do that. At that point, Trayvon ran, and Mr. Zimmerman continued to follow. The dispatcher told him to wait for the police. A suggestion was made that Mr. Zimmerman and the police should meet by a mailbox. But then Mr. Zimmerman changed his mind. Actually, could you have him call me and I’ll tell him where I’m at.”
The next spate of calls came from anxious neighbors. A faint cry for help and terrified howls can be heard in the background. Neighbors said they had seen two men nearby in the dark. They reported hearing a gunshot. One caller said: “I think they’re yelling help, but I don’t know. Send someone quickly, please.”It is not clear from the audio whether one or two shots was fired. And, with the voice muffled in the distance, it is difficult to know which of the two men is crying out for help. The police told The Orlando Sentinel on Friday that they believed the voice crying for help was Mr. Zimmerman’s. They say that prosecutors have told them they do not have enough evidence to dispute Mr. Zimmerman’s claim that he acted in self-defense.
Trayvon’s parents say they have no doubt that it is their son’s voice pleading for his life in the background. They say they can imagine Trayvon reacting with fright or concern upon seeing a burly stranger trailing him in his car, then getting out to follow him.“I listened to the tapes and it just broke my heart again to hear him screaming out for help and pleading for his life, and he was still murdered,” said Sybrina Fulton, Trayvon’s mother. “There is no question in my mind that is his voice.”
Not only have the cops not arrested this man for what is clear and obvious to 99% of Americans that this was a racial hate crime, but they botched the investigation.  They sent a narcotics officer to the scene instead of a homicide detective. They tested the dead Trayvon for alcohol and drug use and not Zimmerman. (CLEARLY skittles have a high drug and alcohol content). They "CORRECTED" witnesses who said they heard the boy yelling for help (How are you going to correct someone's witness account?). They took forever to call the girlfriend for her account of what happened (She's another witness why wasn't she questioned or spoken too). They are claiming that under some law called "Stand Your Ground" that Zimmerman acted in self-defense....Now like I've been saying I'm not one to talk about anyone's weight, but let's compare the below pictures.
Now who do you think was afraid of who in this scenario? Zimmerman was calling for "help"??? Yea right please

The shady/sketchiness continues with Mr. Zimmerman stating that he had gotten out of his car to check what street he was on and Trayvon started running at him from behind....REALLY!?!?!?!?! So you are the neighborhood watchmen patrolling this neighborhood every night and you didn't know what street you were on having lived there a long time? And what reason would Trayvon have to just start chasing you in the rain.

Rallies have occurred already around the country, today most of us particpated in #WYHWTM - Wear your hoodie Wednesday for Trayvon Martin today. I wore mine to work, I didn't care.  Monday which will be the one-month anniversary of his passing they are asking for everyone to wear black. It's really a crime against humanity that Mr. Zimmerman has not been arrested for this clearly intended murder. He had been annoyed with crimes in his neighborhood for weeks, always telling his neighbors to be cautious of young black males in the area.  On his call to 9-1-1 he even said "These a--holes always get away".  Now if that doesn't sound like someone ready to take this boy out just because he's tired of "black people" getting away, then I don't know what does?

Almost 1,000,000 people have signed an online petition for justice and prosecution of Trayvon's murderer. It's to the point that United States Department of Justice and FBI are taking over the case and reviewing the investigation spurring the term: Investigating The Investigation.  Won't you sign the petition today?

  1. It's so hard to listen to that recording. Tonight was the first time I cried because of it. Zimmerman was clearly the aggressor not the one acting in self defense especially since he insisted on following him, is BIGGER than Travyon, AND IS THE ONE WITH THE GUN. But yea Trayvon woullda choked him with some skittles and drowned him with iced tea!!!!!!!

    1. I know, the audio is horrible, if only someone would have intervened, or if that idiot would have just stayed in his car...another life gone too soon. He deserves everything thrown at him, the book, death penalty, years in jail, whatever it takes!! There's is no excuse for this, it's not a mistake to murder someone. The boy was probably fighting for his life and "making too much noise" by yelling and he shot him! Yea I cried the other night over it....horrendous. Yea clearing skittles and tea are dangerous weapons

  4. That's truly horrific that the poor boy was yelling help and yet still died. Awful.
What a horrendous thing to happen - and I hope Zimmerman gets the punishment he deserves sooner rather than later.

    1. Definitely sooner than later, this is absolutely terrible. How are we at 30 days and this man has still not been arrested...it breaks my heart for that family. That boy could be anyone's son...black, white, purple or green doesn't matter, but he deserves to Rest In Peace, knowing that all the right steps were done to bring justice for him!

    1. It is very inhumane how this boy was not helped. The neighbors called it in, but no one stopped this from happening. If only one person would have shouted out to stop or lifted a finger to do something, Trayvon may still be with us, and most importantly with his family

  6. Especially given that this is 2012, This is one of the saddest things I have heard in a long time. Praying for his family and punishment for the culprit....

    1. Yes so sad, You'd think after all these years people would be more racially tolerant...but guess not. I'm just so glad that my parents raised me to not judge entire groups of people based on the acts of a few...it's insanity

    1. Definitely, it's just so shady, and unfortunately only 2 people "really" know what happened Zimmerman and Trayvon, and Trayvon is no longer here to give us his side :-(

  8. I get upset everytime I think about this. This was the first time that I've heard the recording, and I'm horrified! I grew up in a town where the KKK still meet up late at night...so I can only imagine how this could happen in 2012. If justice is not served here on Earth, I find comfort in knowing that Zimmerman will have to answer to a higher power one day. Thanks Shasie, for not being afraid to share this for those that have not had the chance to view.

    1. I know...it's so hard not to get upset. It just seems so senseless and now this country is going crazy, and what is taking the officials so long to do the right thing...everything about this is crazy and it needs to be over soon before something else crazy happens :-(
