NEW CAMERA & An Outfit

Friday, February 24, 2012

You may or may not (depending on how long you've been reading my blog) notice a difference in my pictures!! And hopefully the difference is an improvement! Last week I purchased a new camera! Remember my blog posts on buying cameras a few months back (here and here...and here).  I had finally figured out what camera I wanted, but there was still this little factor of $$ to buy it. So I read an article that said camera's go on sale in February because that's when all the new models come out...so I waited...and waited and snagged my Sony C3K off of Dell.com.  Though it's not the latest model (the Sony 5N is), the C3K is all I need and more. This camera can do everything! From interchangeable lenses to awesome night-time shots, to detail outfit posts.  Compare the following:

The picture on the left was taken with my Canon powershot, a great camera in itself, but not enough for my bloggy photos, so I knew I needed to upgrade!! Picture on the right, taken with my Sony C3K. Can you see the difference!? Less grain, better exposure and detail outfit pick-up.  I have no plans on getting rid of my powershot though. The C3K is mostly for the blog so my little Canon is still the perfect go-to for my bag, and going out, and random pictures, and it's still the better size.

  7. that's a huge difference love the pics are so much clearer now! must have a really good aperture setting! I always find it difficult to take indoors pics even with my canon 500d as the kit lens has a pretty crappy aperture setting.
loving your look too! XX Ilana @ My Modern Vintage

    1. Well I had this other setting called Hi-Key that made it even brighter while taking the shot, so I think that helped along with the aperture, but definitely a huge improvement over my canon SD

  8. That camera is amazing and I really like your accessories! I'm in the market for a camera too I've been using my phone and it's just not cutting it. I have a panasonic version of the Flip but the software isn't compatible with either of my computers... I'm definitely going to look into this camera! I'm really amazed with how well it picks up on details!

    1. I'm using the high-key feature on this camera too which makes everything brighter, but doesn't over expose. I like it because just a couple clicks and I can get it to do what I want. Also the video on here is really good too! Yea details were super important to me as a blogger. I hated out I could never see sequins, or colors, or ruffles if I was forced to take my pic in doors. Now I think I have the proper camera with the right settings to see them.
