Me at the top of Mount Bonnell (The highest point in Austin, Texas)
On Saturday, November 19th, some friends and I participated in Warrior Dash just outside of Austin, Texas. Warrior Dash is a 5K run through different obstacles ranging from mudpits to scaling cargo nets.  It was tons of fun, and we got super muddy! The next day I decided to become reaquainted with Austin via some sight-seeing. I've only been to Austin one other time and that was all the way back in 2009, so I figured it was about time to explore again. The rest of my party went Ziplining, which maybe one day I'll be courageous enough to do! ha-ha! I spent the first hour on Sunday morning researching cool things to see in Austin, and set out.

My first stop was Mount Bonnell, the highest point in Austin. Now if you're like me, you might have thought that all of Texas was flat!! Well Houston is flat, but Austin is very hilly, and is a part of "Hill Country", so I was very excited to explore this Mount, plus you were able to see the city. I imagine this spot at night would be just fabulous!

2nd stop was to see the Stevie Ray Vaughn Statue off of the Lady Bird Lake Trail

This cool monument thing to Texas and in the outer circle it says "The Heart of Texas"

Awesome shot I got of the City from Lady Bird Lake Park
My last stop was the Zellner Botanical Gardens Center

I lied, this wasn't my last stop, but it almost was. Going to the Botanical Gardens was a bad idea because it set my allergies all off!! I was starving though, and stopped at this cool Burger place down the street from the Botanical Gardens, but had a miserable time to eat and sneeze at the same time! ha-ha

    Hi Shasie!
I love botanical gardens because I'm a biologist. I have never been in Austin. I hope you don't sneeze more.
