Sizzling Summer Soiree - Women of Wardrobe - Dress for Success Houston

Friday, August 19, 2011

We interrupt our regularly scheduled program feature of Fan Feature Friday, due to not receiving information from said featuree and backup featurees. Instead we will discuss the amazing Women of Wardrobe Event that I attended on Wednesday Evening entitled Sizzling Summer Soiree.

Woman of Wardrobe
W.O.W.’s goal is to assist Dress for Success Houston through their involvement and volunteerism in order to support the overall mission. Each membership fee is used to purchase a new suit and accessories for a Dress for Success Houston client. Active W.O.W. members donate at least 3 hours of volunteer time to help Dress for Success Houston provide interview suits, encouragement, and career development to disadvantaged women.

Dress for Success Houston
The mission of Dress for Success Houston is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

AND, as of my membership payment at the Sizzling Summer Soiree, I am now a W.O.W. member! Yay! I've been meaning to join for awhile, so I'm so glad I finally did it!

Let's just say everyone showed up dressed to the nines, and the best part was I was able to meet and talk with Whitney Port. Now I try not to act all crazy around famous people because at the end of the day they are just humans like us, but this was different. I have been such a big fan of LC and Whitney for years. LC since her days on Laguna Beach, and Whitney since her days on The Hills and on The City.  I feel like I know them personally by watching them grow up and branch into their fashion careers on TV. They are inspirations to me! I even had a whole blog post dedicated to Whitney's line Whitney Eve when I first started blogging, so no I am NOT a bandwagon fan! haha.

My friend Jessica has been a member of W.O.W ever since I've known her. She is very active with the group, and she is one of the members on their executive committee. Here she is registering attendees (in the middle).

And here is Jessica again in her fabulous look for the event.
I didn't know my other friends were coming to the event, since I bought my ticket last minute and just showed up! Ha-Ha. Anyway below are Veronica and Elise, looking very stylish!
Veronica & Elise looking stunning
So let me explain my frumpy outfit below. I'm currently suffering from image issues haha, and not one of my cute dresses looked cute, and also I was running late and being lazy and didn't get a chance to shave...hence the long Maxi skirt. The necklace is actually a belt that I turned into a necklace mid event. It just looked too dumpy where I had it aroud my waist. Improved my outfit by many points, making it the focal!
STREETSTYLE PHOTOS FROM EVENT
I absolutely fell in love with this girl's skirt! It was all sequiny and orange and fun. It actually made me think "Native American". She gave me the name of the designer but it's sitting on a business card at my place in Houston, so I will update this post as soon as I get back home!

These ladies were just too cute in their neutrals! I had to take their picture!

The girl on the left is a Houston Blogger. We exchanged cards, and I will be making contact with her as soon as I return.
I really loved this blush-toned dress! It was so pretty in person.
Then our other friend Lizzy showed up, looking fabulous in her cute neutral dress
As soon as I saw this guy I KNEW I had to get his picture with those amazing orange shoes and bowtie!

Elise's friend Erica wearing a favorite Summer Color this Season: Hot Pink
Found a girl that was the perfect transition from purple week to yellow week on my fanpage. Loving the Purple Prada Bag
These ladies were so cute! I love each and everyone of their dresses! Fab!
The swanky ladies that I was hanging out with at the party!
Those purple shoes are hot!! I love the draping and fit of both of these dresses

Gorgeous! You can tell that each girl has her own unique style. I love it!
