SPRITE NBA AMATEUR SLAM DUNK CONTEST

Warning: Photo Heavy Blog Post

In my 7 Facts Blog Awards Post, I mentioned that I work as a Brand Ambassador to support my shopping habit. This last event that I got picked up to work for was a lot of fun! I worked for Sprite at their NBA Amateur Slam Dunk Contest held at the Houston International Festival. They are attending 8 cities around the U.S., and Houston was one of them. I met NBA Legend Darryl Dawkins. He's a retired NBA player form the Philadelphia 6ers, and I also met Luis Scola who currently plays for the Houston Rockets. I was also surrounded by very fit, attractive, young men aiming to win the title of Houston's Best Dunker! And last but not least I got to keep my whole uniform, including the shoes! haha For $17/hr it doesn't get any better than that!

Video of the Sprite NBA Houston Slam Dunk Contest! Some cool dunks displayed in video!

Luis Scola of the Houston Rockets and I
NBA LEGEND Darryl Dawkins who shattered the backboard with one of his famed dunks when he was playing.

My wonderful, free brand ambassador outfit

Here are pictures of some of the guys practicing/performing their dunks!

Here's a picture of the final 8! I missed a photo of the final 4 and 2.

The Scoreboard and timer used for the competition.

Make sure you fan NBA Nation on Facebook and Twitter for updates and to see if they are coming to a city near you! I also plan on adding a video of some of these dunks in motion, so make sure you come back and check this post later!
